Save system is inconsistent
To update the game delete all the files that are in the folder where you unzipped the game. Then repeat the instructions to download. Finally in the game clear your Save data in settings and the shop should work.

Install instructions
Create a folder on you desktop and name it whatever you want put the zip file inside of that folder and extract it there. Open the application called the The Lone Spaceship
